UNIVERSAL JOINT FOR FIXING BEARING CUP ASSEMBLY TO TRUNNION OF SPIDER WITH MECHANISM IN POWER TRAIN SYSTEM OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A universal joint is provided to fasten the bearing cup assembly on trunnions with the flared ends by dividing a couple of yokes connected by a spider and protecting the roller bearing with the sealing member. CONSTITUTION: A universal joint is composed of yokes having legs extended with holes, spider having trunnions with the cylinder shape part and the flared part with the protruded part extended in radial direction, bearings(56) rotated and placed in the cylinder shape part to restrict the inner bore smaller than the maximum diameter of the flared part. The universal joint is composed of a first bearing cup assembly(48) and a second bearing cup assembly. The first bearing cup assembly is composed of a bearing cup(52), a thrust washer(54), roller bearings, a sealing washer(58) and an elastic sealing member(60). The sealing member is extended between the outer wall of the bearing cup and the outer surface of the trunnion to protect the roller bearings and to contain lubricant in the bearing cup assembly.
