METHOD FOR REGENERATING SILICA, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING INKJET RECORDING MEDIUM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for regenerating silica from a used silica-containing dispersion liquid or coating liquid, and to provide a method for producing an inkjet recording medium having excellent ink absorbability, print density and glossiness using the regenerated silica powder.

SOLUTION: In the method of regenerating silica, a used coating liquid for an inkjet at least containing silica or a used silica dispersion liquid is fired at 500 to 1,200°C, and is thereafter pulverized so as to control the average particle size to 0.1 to 10 μm. The method for producing an inkjet recording medium uses the silica.
