<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for automatic initial registering capable of completing simply, surely and in a short time a rough adjustment of a printing registering within a range wherein an automatic registering controlling apparatus can work normally. <P>SOLUTION: The method and apparatus for automatic initial registering comprises a registering mark reading process wherein parts of registering marks on a printed matter printed by a plurality of printing units are read to obtain image data, a process for operating an amount of deviation of registering wherein the amount of deviation of the registering in a plurality of the printing units is operated based on the image data, a process for operating an amount of correction wherein the amount of correction of preset data is operated based on the amount of deviation of the registering, and a new preset data operating process wherein new preset data is operated based on the amount of correction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
