PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor for authenticating a user with high security and reliability by a simple configuration. SOLUTION: Based on password data PWD_S designated by a user prior to authentication and device identification data IDM of an authenticating device 3, the authenticating device 3 decodes encrypted data EN_VER preliminarily obtained by encrypting the device identification data IDM by using password data PWD designated by the user for the purpose of receiving authentication, and generates decoded data DECR. Then, the authenticating device 3 compares the decoded data DECR with the device identification data IDM read from a storage device 5, and when they coincide with each other, the authenticating device 3 authenticates that the user and the storage device 5 are legal.
