PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus used for an image reading apparatus, an exposure apparatus for sensitive material, and a fixing apparatus for an exposed sensitive material or the like and capable of easily adjusting a luminous quantity, a luminous quantity distribution, and colors with a high degree of freedom. SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus includes: a cylindrical main body whose inner face is formed to be a reflecting face or a diffusion reflecting face; a light source for making light incident onto the inside of the main body; a slit-like light emission exit provided to a side wall of the main body and extended in the length direction of the main body; one or more slit-like control plate inserting ports provided to the side wall of the main body; and a control plate having an optical characteristic different from that of the inner face of the main body.
