PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic information providing method for reporting information with higher significance more precisely than information with lower significance is low. SOLUTION: The status quantity of traffic information changing along a road is sampled (a) with equal intervals in the distance direction of the road, and provision data for reporting a data column (b) of sampling data are generated, and the provision data are bit plane-decomposed in a state (c) that a portion of the provision data is shifted up, and the acquired data are provided to a reception side.
