PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out wiping and capping at an appropriate time by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The device is configured to make a loading stand 12 where a wiping mechanism 42 and a capping mechanism 22 are placed to reciprocate between a maintenance position and a retreat position. The capping mechanism 22 has a cap stand 26 supported at the loading stand 12 to be movable towards a nozzle face 2, and has caps 34 fitted at the cap stand 26. The nozzle face 2 is covered by the caps 34 when engagement parts 28 are butted against a fixed side 29 at a backward movement end because of the backward movement of the loading stand 12 to the maintenance position, thereby moving the cap stand 26 towards the nozzle face 2. The wiping mechanism 42 is equipped with a wiper stand 46 supported at the loading stand 12 to be movable towards the nozzle face 2, and has a wiper 48 mounted at the wiper stand 46. When the wiping mechanism 42 butts against the fixed side at the backward movement end because of the backward movement of the loading stand 12 to the maintenance position, the wiper 48 is moved towards the nozzle face 2 and brought in contact with the nozzle face 2.
