PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cleansing agent composition having excellent foamability and detergency, suppressing creaky feeling at rinsing, providing very superior smoothness, and setting the condition of the hair after drying. SOLUTION: The hair cleansing agent composition contains (A) a cationic surfactant having an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, (B) a higher alcohol, (C) water and (D) a cleansing component. The distributions of the numbers of carbons of aliphatic hydrocarbon groups in each of the components (A) and (B) are regulated so that the content of a 22C hydrocarbon group is≥50% in the component (A) and the content of the 22C hydrocarbon group is≥40% in the component (B).
