PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain uniform hemihydrate gypsum and anhydrous gypsum from gypsum dihydrate such as flue-gas desulfurization gypsum produced in a coal fired power plant. SOLUTION: This production method for anhydrous and hemihydrate gypsum has a process of calcining the gypsum dihydrate by using a rotary drying apparatus having a rotating barrel and a heating means disposed on the outside of the rotating barrel when obtaining the hemihydrate gypsum or anhydrous gypsum by calcining the gypsum dihydrate such as flue-gas desulfurization gypsum.
