PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet discharge device capable of eliminating the collapse of sheets during falling, increasing the production efficiency, and facilitating the operation. SOLUTION: In this sheet discharge device for a sheet printing machine, printed sheets carried by a sheet carrying device are stacked in order on a pallet placed on a lifting sheet discharge table, and the pallet on which the sheets are stacked in a specified stacked state is removed together with the stacked sheets and replaced with an empty pallet. The device is provided with a shutter bar inserted between the stacked sheets and the sheet carrying device and temporarily receiving the sheets from the sheet carrying device at an operating position by moving between the operating position and a storage position out of the operating position and a sheet separating device projected and recessed so as to be installed in the entire area of the stacked sheet in the lateral direction by allowing a band-shaped rear cutting blade to be positioned perpendicular to the moving direction of the shutter bar along the upper surface position of the shutter bar at the upper side of the stacked sheet end part on the advancing side of the shutter bar.
