PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the lowering of riding comfort and reduce the size of a guide device. SOLUTION: In this car of the elevator, a guide device 16 is installed on the vertical frame 12c of a car frame installed around a cage or the side faces of the cage. The guide device 16 comprises a connection member 19 rotatably supported on a fixed base 18 fixed to the vertical frame 12c. A sliding part 17 sliding on a guide rail 1 is connected to one end part of the connection member 19. An elastic body 20 imparting, by rotation, a pressing force to the sliding part 17 through the connection member 19 is installed at the connection member supporting point of the fixed base 18. The impact of the sliding part 17 due to the irregularities of the guide rail is absorbed by the elastic body 20 to suppress the transmission of vibration and noise to the cage.
