PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for printing heads which can maintain hermeticity and improves a yield at the time of production. SOLUTION: The cap for printing heads is equipped with an elastically deformable lip 40 which annularly surrounds a bottom face 36 and is projected towards a nozzle face of the printing head of an inkjet printer. The annular lip 40 is a rectangle-shaped lip, and includes a plurality of side lips 40a-40d and edge lips 40e-40h which couple the side lips 40a-40d and where directions in which the bottom face 36 is surrounded are changed. The edge lips 40e-40h form corners. The side lips 40a-40d are formed in a taper shape to be thinner in the sectional shape from the bottom face 36 towards a leading end. The edge lips 40e-40h are nearly equal in the height to the side lips 40a-40d and are formed to be thinner in the sectional shape than the side lips 40a-40d. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
