PURPOSE: A PIP(Picture In Picture) processing device of a video display apparatus is provided to display an OSD screen as a main screen, and to operate a predetermined area of the OSD screen, to display a desired PIP shape, thereby displaying various desired types of PIP shapes. CONSTITUTION: A video processor(300) is comprised of a main screen memory for storing video data to be displayed on a main screen, the first format converter for processing the stored video data into a displayable signal, a PIP memory for storing video data to be displayed on a PIP screen, and the second format converter for processing the stored video data of the PIP memory into a displayable signal. When a user selects a desired PIP shape, a microcomputer(200) controls the memories to display the desired PIP shape. A display(90) displays a video signal outputted from the video processor(300) according to a control signal of the microcomputer(200).
