PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium wherein an unevenness owing to a pressure from an opposite surface is hardly formed on a surface to an ink receptive layer side and it is excellent in a sharpness of an image, and to provide a postcard using that.

SOLUTION: For the ink recording medium wherein the ink receptive layer containing a pigment and a binder is provided on at least one side surface of a paper backing, an image sharpness of the ink receptive layer is ≥50% and an internal bonding strength specified in paper pulp test method No. 18-2 of JAPAN TAPPI is 125-280 mJ.
