<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform processing for saving a storage area of a buffer, even if a NULL area is arranged in a leading part of the split buffer. <P>SOLUTION: A recording apparatus is equipped with: the split buffer 102 which is split into a plurality of parts and wherein image data in a split area unit, obtained by splitting a recording area in the scanning direction of a recording head into a plurality of parts, are to be stored; a conversion part 101 for converting the input image data into the state of arrangement in a column direction from the state of arrangement in a raster direction; and a detection part 101 for detecting whether or not all the image data in the capacity of a conversion are NULL, in terms of each capacity of one conversion of the conversion part. The recording apparatus is also equipped with: a storage part 103 for storing the amount of data which indicates that the image data are NULL, and the amount of the NULL image data, when all the image data in the capacity of the conversion are NULL; and a writing control part 103 for next writing the image data, converted by the conversion part, over the image data in the capacity of the conversion, all of which are NULL and which are output from the conversion part and stored in the buffer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
