PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio communication equipment by which reception sensitivity is well retained even if the strength of a reception signal has a rapid change due to fading or the like. SOLUTION: A demodulation circuit 15 is connected to an antenna 1 through a low-noise amplifier 3, a mixer 7, an intermediate-frequency signal amplifier 10, an orthogonal detector 11, and the like. The demodulation circuit 15 is provided with a reception power detection section 16 and a bypass control section 17. A bypass path 5 having a switch 6 is connected in parallel to the low-noise amplifier 3. Switching control is applied to the switch 6 by the use of the bypass control section 17. The bypass control section 17 generates the histogram of a detection value detected by the reception power detection section 16. Determination using the histogram is made on whether the reception signal is a frequently used signal or not. When it is the frequently used signal, the switch 6 is changed over in accordance with the detection value. When it is an occasionally used signal, the present state of the switch 6 is retained.
