PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a common terminal usable for a plug-in type socket for a fluorescent lamp and a clip type socket for a fluorescent lamp. SOLUTION: A pair of flat catching pieces 51 are formed side by side in a catching part 41 by facing inside edge parts 53 to each other; an insertion space 58 formed by a pair of the catching pieces 51 is opened in the moving direction of a lamp pin 72 and secures a space for bringing the lamp pin 72 into an electrical connection state by inserting it. Contact pieces 54 are extended on the edge parts 53 of the respective catching pieces 51. Thereby, the lamp pin 72 can be caught in from the front direction of the catching part 41 of this terminal 4 and from the peripheral direction of the catching part 41, and the terminal 4 can be used for the socket for a fluorescent lamp of either one of the attaching/detaching types in common.
