PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that when welding an airtight container for a hermetic compressor, sputter of solidified scattering molten metal generates, and it invades inside the airtight container from the clearance, drops in the lubrication oil stored in the bottom part of the airtight container, invades the sliding part formed by a compression element along with the lubrication oil in operation of the hermetic compressor, and causes abrasion of the sliding part. SOLUTION: The hermetic compressor makes the contact points between an upper shell 3 and a lower shell 4 at two places to extremely reduce the possibility that there are clearances at two places together. Even if there are clearances between the upper shell 3 and the lower shell 4 at two places, a groove part 11 is constituted so that the sputter easily stays when the sputter invades it.
