PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump capable of feeding a pressurized fuel from a pump body side to a pump cover side without making the fuel invade into the clearance between the outer peripheral surface of an impeller and the inner peripheral surface of a pump cover. SOLUTION: The clearance C2 between the outer peripheral surface 16p of the impeller and the inner peripheral surface 9c of the pump cover is set to be extremely small, and the pressurized fuel is made to pass through a communication port 16c communicating a front with a back of the impeller 16. This suppresses the fuel to enter the clearance C2, and can prevent the deterioration of pump efficiency due to the pressure applied to the outer peripheral surface 16p of the impeller and its vicinity.
