PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repairing structure, and a repairing method applicable to the replacement of various existing roofs or existing roofs different in an effective width, or applicable to the replacement of the various existing roofs or existing walls regardless of the existence of a projecting part of a vertical sash bar by forming a heat insulating layer for arranging a plurality of continuous groove parts having the opening reverse side at a specific interval. SOLUTION: This repairing structure is a repairing structure for newly arranging a roof or a wall via a heat insulating material 1A on the outside of the existing roof 2 or the existing wall for forming the projecting part 25 on an existing roof surface or a wall surface. The heat insulating material 1A forms the heat insulating layer 10 for arranging the plurality of continuous groove parts 11 having the opening reverse side at an interval of the greatest common divisor of the effective width typical of the existing roof 2 or the existing wall on the reverse side. The heat insulating layer 10 is arranged so that the projecting part 25 is positioned in the groove parts 11, and the roof or the wall is newly arranged by laying a covering material 4 on a surface of the heat insulating layer 10.
