PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive for epoxy resin curing agents, an epoxy resin curing agent and a primer composition being inexpensive and excellent in adhesiveness to a substrate and enabling high adhesiveness between a primer and a topcoat and to provide a coating method using the primer composition. SOLUTION: The additive for epoxy resin curing agents is composed of a reactive silicone oil represented by formula (1) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>6</SP>are each an alkyl group; M is a connecting group in which structural units UX, UY and UZ each having numbers of x, y and z are connected in an arbitrary order; R<SP>7</SP>to R<SP>9</SP>are each an alkyl group or a phenyl group; X is a substituted alkyl group having at least alkoxysilyl group; Y is a substituted alkyl group or substituted alkyl ether group having at least epoxy group; Z is an alkyl group or a phenyl group; x and y are each≥1 and z is≥0; whole molecular weight of general formula (1) is an integer of 544 to 100,000].
