PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin composition desirably used for an engine cover excellent in vibration damping performances and thermal aging resistance in a practical temperature region and to provide its production method. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic resin composition is prepared by melt-kneading a polyamide resin, a polypropylene resin, mica, a compatibilizer, N,N'-hexamethylenebis(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxy-hydrocinnamide), and a stabilizer. The stabilizer is desirably bis[bis(2,4-di-tert-butyl-5-methylphenoxy)phosphino]biphenyl, bis(2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methylphenyl)pentaerythritol phosphite, phenol, or 2-(1,1,-dimethylethyl)-6-methyl-4-[3-[[2,4,8,10-tetrakis(1,1-dimethylethyl)dibenzo[d,f][1,3,2]dioxaphosphepin-6-yl]oxy]propyl].
