PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer excellent in durability, for which the dryer is thinned, miniaturized and made light in weight, noise is reduced and a manufacture process is simplified. SOLUTION: For the hand dryer 1, a hand insertion part 6 and a water receiving part 7 are provided on the lower part of a main body casing 3, an intake port 13 for introducing outdoor air to a motor-driven fan 4 is opened on the back surface part 3a of the main body case 3, and section walls 3b, 3c and 3d to be in contact with a wall surface 2 are formed over the entire longitudinal direction on the upper edge and left and right side edges of the back surface part 3a of the main body case 3. When the back surface part 3a of the main body case 3 is made to face the wall surface 2 of a structure body and the hand dryer 1 is fixed to the wall surface 2 in the state of bringing the section walls 3b, 3c and 3d into contact with the wall surface 2, a ventilation route 16 sectioned by the section walls 3b, 3c and 3d and the wall surface 2 is formed between the main body case 3 and the back surface part 3a and the suction port 16a is positioned at the lowest part of the main body case 3.
