The present invention relates mainly to a hydraulic reservoir, to a braking device comprising such a reservoir and to a method for mounting the said reservoir. A reservoir according to the present invention comprises a first (1) and a second (3) piece which are connected in a sealed manner by connecting means (10, 15), and a filling orifice (5) and at least one outlet orifice (19, 21). The device according to the present invention comprises a master cylinder (31) equipped with the reservoir according to the present invention. The mounting method comprises the steps of: mounting the second piece (3) on the master cylinder (31); and connecting the first piece (1) to the second piece (3) fixed to the master cylinder (31).
