METHOD FOR PREPARING ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FUNCTIONAL CERAMIC CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL BY USING PHOTOCATALYTIC ACTION OF TiO2

PURPOSE: A method for preparing an environmentally friendly ceramic construction material is provided to reduce pollutants, specifically volatile organic compounds, by using a photocatalytic action of TiO2. With the method, sludge generated during a settlement process in a water treatment plant can also be recycled. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing an environmentally friendly ceramic construction material comprises: coating an initially molded body of ceramic with titanium dioxide(TiO2) in the form of slurry of which viscosity can be controllable, by spray coating or dip coating; and sintering the coated ceramic. The initially formed body of ceramic is obtained by forming and drying a clay type material, or alternatively hydrating sludge generated from a water treatment plant, heating the hydrated sludge at 450-700deg.C to remove organic materials, cutting the resulted product to a certain regular size, and forming and drying the resulted product.
