The invention relates to a system for mobile radio communication with mobile terminals, comprising modules that can be inserted into said mobile terminal s. At least one subscriber area within which communication from and/or to the mobile terminals takes place under special conditions is defined within the overall area covered by the communication system. The inventive communicatio n system further comprises means with the aid of which it can be established whether the mobile terminal is located within said subscriber area. Accordin g to the invention, said means are disposed on the module or in a determining unit which can be accessed by remote interrogation. The invention also relat es to a method for operating a mobile communication system.
