<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an identification device and a fingerprint picture imaging method capable of stably affording fingerprint pictures without being affected by fingerprint surface conditions and improving identification performances. <P>SOLUTION: The identification device has a transparent holding part 2 of a subject 1 having a fingerprint 11 under the condition of contacting with the fingerprint, a light source 3 for irradiation of a light transmitted through the subject which is held under the condition of contacting the fingerprint to the holding part, an imaging means 4 for obtaining the fingerprint picture whose raised part is dark and recessed part is bright by receiving lights transmitted through the raised part and the recessed part of the fingerprint, and a signal treatment part 5 for identification of persons based on the fingerprint picture which is output from this imaging means. A light capable of transmitting through the subject is irradiated to the subject having the fingerprint, and the fingerprint picture is obtained according to the light transmittance of the internal tissue nearby the surface of the fingerprint of the subject. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
