PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner with reduced number of parts and the number of assembly man-hours. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has a rotating pipe 9 connected to a hand controller body 7 at the end on the hand controller body 7 side of a hose 8 and a conductive sliding contact plate 10 provided on the outer periphery of the rotating pipe 9. A contact point 13 abutting on the conductive sliding contact plate 10 and electrically connected to an operation switch board 6 is provided on a hand cover 12 covering the operation switch board 6. Accordingly, a separate exclusive cover for mounting the contact point 13 is not necessary, and therefore, the number of parts and the number of assembly man-hours can be reduced.
