PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new metal powder which can form an anisotropic conductive film having more excellent anisotropic conductivity than heretofore, to provide its production method, and to provide an anisotropic conductive film which is sufficiently adaptive to the request for higher density packaging by using the metal powder. SOLUTION: The metal powder has a shape where many fine metal grains are connected so as to be a straight chain shape free from branching. Further, the maximum value of angles between the tangents in both the ends of a curve obtained by approximating the shape of the chain and a straight line connecting the space between both the ends of the curve is regulated to≤20°. In the production method, from a magnetic field-applied liquid in a substantially non-stirred static state comprising metal ions to form the metal grains, a reducer and a dispersant, the metal ions are reduced by the action of the reducer to precipitate the metal grains, and the many metal grains are connected so as to be a straight line by the magnetic field to form the metal powder. The anisotropic conductive film comprises the metal powder in which the length of the chain is regulated to less than the distance between the adjoining electrodes composing conductively connected joints in a state of being oriented to the thickness direction of the film.
