PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective scaffold unit, for which a traffic regulation is not required even in the case of assembly and disassembly works and which can conduct works safely in the case of the construction, and a protective construction method using the unit by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: In the protective scaffold unit 10 for various works such as the maintenance or the like of a bridge, the unit 10 is composed of unit bodies 11 suspended from main girders for the bridge and rotary frames 12 installed at the outer end of the bridge 11a constituting the unit bodies 11 in an openable and closeable manner.
