The invention relates to a method for realizing a structured polymeric semiconductor, comprising the following steps: (a) a film of a polymeric semiconductor is applied to a substrate; (b) a part of the film is lighted, wherein functional groups of the polymeric semiconductor undergo a photocyclization reaction under the influence of the light used, as a result of which a difference in solubility with respect to a particular solvent arises between the lighted part and the non-lighted part of the film; and (c) the part of the film which is more soluble in the solvent is removed from the substrate by means of the solvent. The invention further relates to a light-emitting diode, transistor, photodiode or sensor comprising a structured polymeric semiconductor which can be obtained with the method according to the invention.
