At the beginning of a multi-material melting process, input variables corresponding to weights and specific energies of the materials concerned are input to a control device. The output is the theoretical energy required for the furnace. At the end of the process, the actual energy consumed is measured and also the temperature of the melt. From the difference between the temperature and a theoretical temperature, an actual energy input is calculated. From the difference between this and the theoretical energy, a weighting factor in the control unit is altered ready for the next melting process. ADVANTAGE - Automatic match of energy required to weight of materials involved.
|
