A luminous element fitted with a filament bulb flashes optically at the same time as a luminous element fitted with an LED. A control device emits a triggering signal (2) to activate the luminous element at a first point of time (t1) to last a period of time (Tan). If the control device transmits no signal any more at a second point of time (t2), the luminous element is deactivated. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out a method for triggering a lighting device/LED in a motor vehicle.
