PURPOSE: A method and a system for settlement using an intelligent smart card are provided to complete a settlement process by making the intelligent smart card generate/transmit settlement data based on settlement information to a settlement client and making an intelligent card application transfer settlement approval data to an intelligent settlement system. CONSTITUTION: A web server(120) generates/provides the settlement information for card settlement to the settlement client(130). The settlement client provides the received settlement information to the smart card(150). The smart card is equipped with a settlement data generating module generating the settlement data including a settlement approval header and/or the settlement approval data based on the settlement information received from the settlement client. A settlement server(105) processes the settlement based on the settlement data generated from the smart card.
