PURPOSE: A seat with a variable length headrest is provided to improve comfortableness and to relieve injury of a neck of a driver at a collision by applying elastic force in receiving pressure and by adjusting the position of the headrest. CONSTITUTION: A seat comprises a seat cushion(10) on which a lower body of a passenger is placed; a seat back(20) connected to the seat cushion for placing the upper body of the passenger; a headrest(30) installed in the upper part of the seat back; and a length adjusting unit(50) connected to the headrest to adjust the clearance between a head pad(40) contacted to the head of the passenger and the headrest. The length adjusting unit is regulated by elastic force according to the position of the head of the passenger, and composed of a cylinder connected to the headrest, a piston inserted to the cylinder and connected to the head pad by a piston rod, an air port formed in the cylinder and a lid opening and closing the air port.
