METHOD FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL, IN WHICH SELECTIVE WRITE AND ERASE ARE PERFORMED IN ONE FRAME PARALLELY

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to display the linear gray level by setting the luminance weight of the selective erase sub-field low in comparison with the practical gray level value. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma display panel includes the steps of: arranging at least one selective write sub-field(WSF) to select the on cells by using the write data pulse in a partial period of a frame period; and placing at least one selective erase sub-field(ESF) to select off cells among the on cells by using the erase data pulse in the remaining period of the one frame period except the WSF arranged period. And, the method is characterized in that the ESF has a low luminance weight value in comparison with the actual gray level value.
