A dispenser for dispensing paper from a paper roll having a central core, the paper roll being characterized by a series of longitudinally space d transverse perforated lines to ease dispensing sections of the paper; the dispenser comprises a vertical stand including a base portion to receive one end of the roll; a back portion adapted to contact a portion of the roll thereagainst and a clip portion engaging the central core. The clip portion is biased so as to maintain the portion of the roll in contact with the back portion of the stand.
