The method involves dismounting a saddle stem (2) for disintegrating assembly formed by a seat (1) fixed on the stem. The saddle stem is positioned in a manner to hinder rotation of a carrier wheel (5). The saddle stem is cooperated with mountings (4) of a bicycle by a free locking device (3) linked to the saddle stem in a locking position to conserve preventing function during desired duration. An independent claim is also included for a device implementing a theft prevention method.
