PURPOSE: A gap remaining structure of a steering shaft for a steering column of a vehicle is provided to cut down manufacturing cost, and to reduce assembling tolerance and working process by maintaining the constant gap between the steel bush and the steering shaft with flexibility of a dry bearing. CONSTITUTION: A steering shaft(20) is rotated and inserted to a steering column(30), and the steering column is composed of an outer tube(32) and an inner tube(34) supported and fixed to the vehicle body by upper and lower mounting brackets(40a,40b). A flexible dry bearing(80) is inserted to the inner end of the inner tube to rotate and support the steering shaft, and a hollow layer(84) is formed between an outer metal race(82) surface-coated specifically and an inner plastic race(86). A steel bush(90) is composed of a cut portion(92), and inserted to the bore of the dry bearing and contacted to the outside of the steering shaft.
