The method involves arranging a collar (5) for assembling an ornamental piece (4) with a bar (2). Wings (7) of the collar are separated by a distance slightly larger than a width or transversal dimension of a portion (4a) of the ornamental piece (4). The portion (4a) is engaged between the wings (7) and the wings are turned downwardly against the portion (4a). An independent claim is also included for a decorative bar structure.
