An oil-in-water emulsion composition, comprising an oily phase containing at least 3 wt.% of at least one wax, presented in the form of a flexible paste at ambient which contains a non-crosslinked amphiphilic polymer obtained from a hydrophilic monomer (A) and one or more hydrophobic monomers. Independent claims are included for a method of cosmetic treatment of the skin, including the scalp, the hair and/or the lips by applying the claimed composition and for a method of preparation of the composition by carrying out at least one stage in a screw mixer-extruder with a temperature gradient of 100[deg]C to 20[deg]C.
