PURPOSE: A small sized voltage transformer having a hinged housing is provided to increase portability by eliminating an external cable outside the voltage transformer. CONSTITUTION: A voltage transformer includes a housing having a main plug(3,4) connectable to a main voltage source, a terminal plug(8) connectable to a terminal device, and encloses at least a portion of a voltage transformer(1). The housing further includes a first housing component(2) and a second housing component(6). The second housing component is movably connected to the first housing component by a guiding portion and is implemented as a receptor receiving the terminal therein. The voltage transformer is adapted to move from a transport position to a charging position. At the transport position, the housing components are configured to be moved relative to each other such that the space occupied at the transport position is smaller than the one occupied at the charging position.
