摘要 PURPOSE: A video signal processor and a television receiver using the video signal processor are provided to improve accuracy of motion detection based on a composite video signal and prevent deterioration of picture quality due to erroneous motion detection. CONSTITUTION: A video signal processor includes the first and second motion detecting units(30,40A), a color signal differentiating unit(10), a selecting unit(304), and motion coefficient generating units(306,406). The first motion detecting unit obtains differentiation of a luminance signal included in a predetermined composite video signal of the current frame and a luminance signal included in a composite video signal of a previous frame and detects the first motion detection signal in response to the differentiation. The second motion detecting unit extracts a luminance signal included in three composite video signals in the current frame, detects correlation of a color signal component left in the extracted luminance signal, and outputs the second motion detection signal in response to the detected result. The color signal differentiating unit calculates differentiation of the absolute value of a color signal in the current frame and a color signal in the previous frame. The selecting unit selects the differentiation of the color signal when one of the first and second motion detection signals represents a motion and selects a predetermined value when both of the first and second motion detection signals represent no motion. The motion coefficient generating units output a motion efficient representing motion in response to the value selected by the selecting unit.
