SELVAGE FORMING DEVICE NOT PREVENTING WEAVING MACHINE FROM OPERATING AT HIGH SPEED AND EXPANDING OPENING OF WARP FOR FORMING SELVAGE

PURPOSE: A selvage forming device is characterized by not preventing a weaving machine from operating at high speed and expanding an opening of warp for forming a selvage. CONSTITUTION: A selvage forming device of a weaving machine forms a selvage by operation of a first selvage forming harness(11) and a second selvage forming harness(12) reciprocating in opposite direction. The selvage forming device comprises: a first band(23) supporting the first selvage forming harness(11), containing plural power receiving holes in a row and being capable of bending; a second band(24) supporting the second selvage forming harness(12), containing plural power receiving holes in a row and being capable of bending; and a wheel(18) containing plural power transmission teeth(181) engaged with the power receiving holes(231,241) of the first band(23) and the second band(24). The first band(23) and the second band(24) are opposed to each other on both sides of the wheel(18) in conditions that the first band(23) and the second band(24) are curved.
