Mechanical locking system for an electrical plug and socket housing uses a double manual lever mechanism

The electrical connector has a base socket [2] and an upper plug [3] that are pulled together to engage the contacts. The engagement is provided by a double lever system [20,40]. One lever [40] is hinged onto the other and in a first operation the tip is hooked onto pins [11] on the housing. The lower lever is the pulled down to lock the assembly.
