The vehicle fuel tank (10) has a smaller inner reservoir (28), inserted into the tank through an opening (14) in the tank wall and bonded in place. The small reservoir can be distorted over at least part of its wall (26) during the insertion into the fuel tank through the opening (14) with smaller dimensions that the reservoir size, and then reassert to its original shape when within the tank. The small reservoir (28) has a pref. round cross section, with fixed end components (20,21) which also act as the closure for the opening (14) in the tank wall, with the distorting wall section between them.
