PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a burden of a user; and to easily take a uniform security measure against the whole network terminals by simplifying updating processing of firmware used by the network terminals connected to a LAN. SOLUTION: A LAN control server receives an updating program of the firmware via the Internet, and the LAN control server executes the updating processing on the firmware of the network terminals by transferring the updating program to the network terminals such as a FAX device connected to the LAN, and thereby eliminates the necessity of executing complicated work such as executing program updating processing by going to the side of the network terminals. Since only the LAN control server is directly connected to an external network, for example, when the security measure against illicit access is taken for the server, there is no need to take the security measure against the whole network terminals, so that security control is facilitated.
