PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that zooming cannot be performed quickly because a reduction gear is used for the zooming in the conventional imaging apparatus such as a digital camera. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is equipped with: a 2nd group lens L2 driving motor 11 for driving a 2nd group lens L2 being the zoom lens of a collapsible mount type lens barrel 20; and a starting button 46 operated through one action. By depressing the button 46 when the power source of the imaging apparatus 45 is being turned off, a series of processing from starting a power source, extending the lens barrel 20 to taking photographs at a plurality of zoom positions is performed.
