PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect disconnection in signal lines 18, 20, 22, 24 for connecting coils 14, 16 to differential amplifiers 26, 28, irrespective of a rotation angle of a rotor 10, in a resolver for measuring the rotation angle of the rotor 10. SOLUTION: A disconnection determining part 42 determines at first whether an interline signal between the signal line 18 and the signal line 24 is zero, when acquiring the sine signal, the cosine signal and the interline signal between the signal line 18 and the signal line 24 and determines thereafter whether a sine signal and a cosine signal are zero. The disconnection in any of the signal lines 18, 20, 22, 24 is determined, when the interline signal is zero, and when either of the the sine signal or the cosine signal is zero.
