PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder that can eliminate a problem of a misalignment of a sheet due to contact between the top sheet of sheets stacked on a cassette and a pickup roller when the cassette is inserted into/detached from a machine body with a simple configuration and at low cost, without requiring large installation space. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder includes a pickup roller support body for supporting a pickup roller on a machine body, swingably to a direction to come closer and go away for the upper surface of a sheet and a swing defining body, for defining a swing position of the support body. mounted on the body movably substantially together with the cassette in accordance with insertion/removal of the cassette.
